Each day, photographic and cinematic images show me far away places, vividly violent images, visualized memories and moments of life I would never otherwise encounter.  I wonder how these inescapable images merge with everyday visual sensations.  Are we more affected by gripping mediated imagery or the flow of immediate physical sensation?  With painting I render images tracing the flow of time with transparent, tactile layers of oil paint.  I am amazed by the complexity of the reality that can diffuse through various layers of visions to penetrate my dreams and riddle my conscious thoughts. My paintings are my reflections, my interrogations, my waking hours, and my celebrations of life and death rendering new layers of illusion.
